Prugnolo Gentile is an ancient grape variety generally considered to be a Sangiovese biotype. La Spinetta has decided to vinify this variety in purity, in order to enhance its peculiarities. The scents are refined, with notes of plum and violet. The palate is ever so delicate, with less intense tannic texture present however quite similar to that of Nebbiolo.

Maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled vats for an average period of 14-15 days. Malolactic fermentation done in used (2nd passage) French oak barrels, followed by 24 months of aging. Finally, bottle-aged for about 6 months.
