L A  S P I N E T T A Casanova

Casanova della SPINETTA, Terricciola Tuscany*

Our Tuscan vineyard lies in the village of Terricciola between Pisa and Volterra. Here we make our Sezzana, a 95% Sangiovese from Casciana Terme, as Sangiovese to us is the ambassador of the Tuscan terrain. The remaining 5% are Colorino, another Tuscan indigenous grape variety, that gives a dark ruby red color to the wine. From the 65 hectare of vineyards we also make another 95% Sangiovese single vineyard wine called Sassontino. These Sangiovese grapes grow near Casanova, Terriciola. The first vintage of Sassontino was 2003, released in 2006.

In 2004 for the first time we also harvested our third Sangiovese, made from young vines (4-5 years), called Il Nero di Casanova. This fruity, delicious, more approachable wine was released for the first time in the Fall of 2005. In 2010 we released our first Tuscan white: Vermentino 2009. This refereshing, with minerality striking wine was absorbed by the market even before the Summer.

Wines:

Olive Oil:

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, l'Olio di Casanova, 0.5 l: Our olive oil is made from olives, that are hand-picked and immediately cold-pressed, guaranteeing the highest quality. Whether we make wine or olive oil, we always have the same philosophy for quality and respect in mind.
